Prince Adam Zygmunt Sapieha (2 May 1892 - 20 October 1970) was a military aviator and cavalry officer in the Polish Army. He was the son of Polish magnate Prince Władysław Leon Sapieha, and nephew of the Polish cardinal Prince Adam Stefan Sapieha. During World War I he was one of the first aviators in the Austro-Hungarian Imperial and Royal Aviation Troops. Later he became a Polish cavalry officer. On 1 June 1919 he was made lieutenant and later served as an officer in the 2nd Light Cavalry Regiment of Rokitna. On 10 December 1918 in Cracow he married Teresa Sobańska (20 October 1891 – 14 October 1981), the daughter of Count Michał Maria Sobański and Countess Ludwika Wodzicka. Adam Zygmunt and Teresa had eight children: * Zofia Sapieha * Róża Maria Sapieha * Gabriela Sapieha (1922–1924) * Adam Sapieha (born and died 23 November 1923) * Jadwiga Teresa Sapieha (born 15 December 1924) - on 17 May 1947 she was married to Maurice de San (1911–1997) * Michał Ksawery Sapieha Kodenski (1 May 1930 – 11 July 2013) * Maria Ludwika Sapieha (born 9 August 1931) - on 19 April 1955 she was married to Maximilien de Hemptinne * Stanisław Artur Sapieha (9 January 1937 - 10 March 1956) Prince Adam's great-granddaughter is Queen Mathilde of the Belgians.〔(M.J.
